Here is a story of how simple porridge or healthy porridge with fruit and nuts can teach you to have an open mind!

So, porridge was never my thing. It always looked very unappealing to me, and it still does, but I decided to give it a try after a friend told me about its many great health benefits. And now, this healthy oatmeal recipe for weight loss is one of my favorite breakfasts to have! And it’s very straight forward.

For topping for this healthy oatmeal breakfast for weight loss, this time I used seasonal kiwi and apple for some crunch.

For more toppings for this oatmeal porridge recipe for weight loss I used dates. I actually prefer prunes but I couldn’t find any when I was filming at my grandmas. 😊

Now just to mention a few benefits of this porridge recipe for weight loss – it lowers your blood pressure, bad cholesterol, glucose, keeps you fuller for longer and helps with weight loss.

Healthy Porridge With Fruit And Nuts

  • Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp porridge oats

  • 6 tbsp water

  • ½ orange juice

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • ½ Granny Smith apple

  • 2 kiwi

  • 5 almonds

  • 3 prunes


  • Place oats and water in a small pot. Bring to boil, then reduce the heat to simmering point and cook until the mixture becomes thick and gloopy. Mix occasionally.
  • Remove from the heat. Add in chia, cinnamon and orange juice. Mix well.
  • Transfer the mixture into a bowl. Top with apple and kiwi chunks, prunes and almonds.
  • Enjoy while warm!
